alternative medicine

Would you please advise me re: the use of lemon grass, ginseng, and any other things they may help?  I was diagnosed with stage111-C in August.  I have found info on using herbs, etc. very confusing and difficult to sort thru.  thanks so much.

You find confusion because there are many claims and few facts when it comes to alternative medicine in cancer care. Luckily, there is a slowly growing body of information and study. However, if you are on active chemotherapy, you should not add other medicine to your regimen. remember herbs are just unrefined medications. There are many drug-drug interactions between herbal medications and prescription medications.
I would ask you oncologist about what they feel is safe for you to take. Another resource is a well trained and experienced acupuncturist who also does herbal medicine as part of their practice. You can call the local acupuncture school in your region to get a referral of someone who has enough experience to help you.

I have read alot and also used a naturealpath during my treatment.  Most of what I used was to help with symptoms and to stay healthy.  nothing was in the strong antioxidant area.  But one thing I also used during my treatment and will continue is Ginger 4,000 mg daily.  An article landed in my lab the day I was diagnosed about ginger weakening ovarian cancer cells. I researched the article and Doctors. In labs ginger attacks ovarian cancer cells like Cisplatin. My CA125 went down to 2 after 6 sessions I had a total of 8. 8IP and 6 IV. Life works in strange ways.  Now I am looking into IV VitC.  You see I believe diet, mental health, physical health will help me.  If you want more I can send you to the article.
