anybody else experianced pain so long after surgery?

by dalip, Apr 27, 2007 12:00AM
Hello.
Sorry to post here when it's not a cancer issue but i know a lot of you ladies have had ovaries removed so might be able to advise me.I had both ovaries removed end of nov 06.I had a lot of pain on the left side before surgery. That has thankfully gone and i have recovered well from the op.The problem is my left side is still tender to touch and in one particular area painfull. I know that my bowel was wrapped around both my ovary and the cyst and was told the op was a tricky one taking over 3 1/2 hours,so at first i put the pain down to extreme bruising. This seems to be going on too long now and it is not getting better in fact it now throbs towards the end of the day.Any ladies got any ideas or had the same thing i would really do with some advice.Again sorry to post here but tried "womens health" and got no replies. Thanks in advance.Dawn

Has everything else pretty much returned to normal?  I think I would go get a flat plate { XRay } done of the abdomen to see if it could be an adhesion or a displacement of the intestine.  No the pain should not be there for this long, you don't want to let it get worse, since the bowel was twisted around the ovary it might not have returned to its normal run through the abd, lets hope it is not a twisted bowel, you really need to find this out soon. Good Luck
