I think i might have read something about asbestos being an ingredient in talcum powder and talcum powder is thought to be associated with ovarian cancer. Not sure if this is still the case and i can't remember where i read it.

So glad to read your response cause I have been a big believer that talc causes ahsma and allergies in children.  Now I can add possible lung and ovarian cancer as well..

Why exactly are you on the Ovarian cancer forum?  Are you doing research for a relative with OVCA?  We don't get many young males here unless they are.

I will tell you what was told to me 17 years ago. Apparently talc deposits are mined from the earth as is asbestos. Sometimes these talc and asbestos deposits are found close together and somehow some of the asbestos fibers manage to "mix in" with the talc. I am no expert in talc, asbestos, mining or science, what I posted above is just what I have been told. I DO know that, before I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, I used talc on my diaphragm as was instructed.

Please stop pushing people off this forum just because they don't come right out and say they have ovarian cancer.  We don't know why people come here and post their questions but I find most of them worthy of further research and helpful to me.

I don't mind people coming on and asking us questions regarding OVCA, the nurses from the southern US and the young lady from England were very upfront in why they were asking there questions.  Sank asked for his relative.  I am just curious why this young man is asking questions.  I am not trying to push him off. If it is true research we should be told.  Sorry, I upset you, I didn't mean to, I am trying to understand why a 22 year old man wants to know about this, call it my research.

Not upset, just feel that people should be allowed to post their questions without having to give an explanation.  All questions may be of interested to someone or many...But enough about why...
Let me tell you what happened ..Went for my 3 month check up with my ONCGYNO and while we were talking, she had a coughing attack and couldn't stop. She explained that it was from the talc inside her disposable gloves. So I asked her about tacl causing ovarian cancer and she said yes it's true and that people should not put talc on babby girls genetalia area...Also lung cancer so not around neck and mouth. Thais are big users of babby powder and products with talc!! THEN she reassured me that when she does internal checks, no talc leaks out !!! Ummmm?!
Got me wondering about the times I go to the dentist and she puts and removes her gloves and all this talc is floating in the air and I am breathing it in...
Have decided that from now on, I will keep my legs, mouth and nose closed and step out of the room till the coast is clear everytime dr puts and removed talc lined gloves...
