bad pain,vomiting,sweats today

This morning I woke up with horrible belly pain, from the rib cage down to the pelvis and around to the back on both sides. I began vomiting and couldn't stop, took a Zofran and that helped. I also broke out in a cold sweat.

I called my oncologist and the oncology nurse spoke with him, he said it may be a virus, but didn't sound cancer related, my scan last month was clear. He said I should call my internist to be checked out.

I have an appointment for Thurs. the only day he's in the office nearest to me. The symptoms are gone, I'm just very tired and drowsy at this point.

We were sure we were on the way to the ER, where my oncologist said his associate was on call.

Have any of you had these symptoms and what was diagnosed, I've had it a couple of times since May and I'm wondering if it's gall bladder, or kidney stone, or just a simple virus?
Any info is appreciated.

Hi, I'll ask the doctor about a urine analysis, and about adhesions.
He's a good diagnostician so we'll see where he goes with this.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Could be kidney pain. The fact that it is on both sides though makes me wonder more about an infection than kidney stones as usually kidney stones are one sided (unless you are very unlucky). Though if the pain subsided quickly in a day or so this sounds more stones than infection.
If it is kidney related, even if the pain resolves itself or goes down to a more tolerable level(OVCA induces a high tolerance to pain so sometimes I actually wonder what a person that hasn't gone through any of this would rate the same pain....) then you would expect to see microscopic blood (stones) or infection/sediment etc under urinalysis. So a simple pee in a cup could rule these out (or in).
I had kidney infections when I was younger and it was excruciating, and my husband has recently had kidney stone attacks - most painful thing he has experienced).
I don't have any knowledge of gall bladder or other pain.

The other thing I was thinking - what about adhesions? I had a few adhesions problems late last year (18mths after my laparotomy) and each one was painful. However when one of them tore/snapped best guess is that it caused bleedning and I was in agony for a day or so while it resolved / blood was reabsorbed. I was close to going to emergency on that one so the pain can be fairly extreme.

Pain that is so bad it makes you vomit is not normal so make sure you still go to your thursday appointment.

Hi,
Thanks for the suggestion, but with MiraLax, Colace and prune juice that's not a problem.

I woke up with a headache, and feeling tired today so I'm hoping it's a dopey virus. No n/v or pain. Maybe it was a gall stone I was passing, puzzlement continues.

I hope you have a pleasant day today, I guess CT. is as hot as NJ is.

I don't have any experience with this particular problem but I just want to throw this out to you as a possible idea.  Could it possibly be severe constipation?
