My question is....what could cause Bilateral Cyts AND an enlarged uterus at the same time? Are there certain questions I need to be aware of to ask my OB when I am there? I have complained to him for 3 years that my ovaries hurt and that I wake up every night with severe night sweats (could be from the sleep apnea), but he always just put me on birth control but would never run any tests. Then I went on my own & scheduled an appt. with an endocrinolgist (I was certain my hormones were off), and he orders a CT right off the bat and it comes back with those results. Any help, info, insight would be greatly appreciated :) :)
Wow...you're really being dragged up and down by your doc. I definitely don't have the capacity of helping you interpret your test results.
I will, however, STRONGLY encourage you to seek a second-opinion from a gynecologist/oncologist. These men and women have the sole responsibility of caring for the cancers that occur in our reproductive organs. You have the right to get a second opinion, especially in light of the fact that your first one hasn't done any good for you. I don't know where you are, geographically, but you can access the teaching hospitals or cancer centers near you. Remember, you don't have to be diagnosed with cancer to seek care from these people. Also, more and more of them are allowing patients to self-refer. All you have to do is get your records released...again, it's your right to do that. Your doctor cannot refuse your request for the release of your records. If you need any help in locating a gyn/onc near you, please let us know. There are women on this site who will be happy to help you.
You deserve quality, qualified care. Please keep us posted on how you're doing.
peace,

Thanks Turtledovmom :) Do you happen to know though if "bilateral adnexal cysts with an enlarged uterus" is something that is always benign? If it were anything more worrisome, would it normally state something different than that on the CT? Thanks again :)

Unfortunately, the only way to say with 100% certainty that it is or isn't malignant is by an actual biopsy.
