bleeding after removal of ovary

I had my right ovary removed friday as well as my IUD removed.  Did any one experience a lot of vaginal bleeding post op?  The first 2 days it was just spotting, but now it is rather heavy.  I called the on call doc yesterday and he said it may cause bleeding heavier than a period, but I have never heard that and was wondering if anyone else experienced this.  Also, the gas pains (laproscopy) how long did they last????

My gas pains lasted about a week and I was bloated for about 2 weeks after.  I started bleeding a day after my surgery and it lasted for about a week and a half.  It was fairly heavy.
