ca125 down to 89.5. Dr tells me there's still a chance of cancer in the deeper tissues

Hello Dr. I have emailed previously. I am still very concerned that my gyn/onc told me at my follow up from laparoscopy that there is still a chance of cancer in the deeper tissues even though no cancer was detected at laparoscopy. My ca125 three weeks after the lap was 164. I had it rechecked again three weeks after that and it did drop to 89.5. They scheduled a ultrasound follow up in July which is 3 months post lap. If this Dr. really feels that there is a chance that I could still have cancer then why would he wait 3 months to recheck me. I feel like I am being hung off a cliff and cant really relax. Should I be having a PET scan or different testing to make sure I dont have cancer. I cant understand how this Dr. can talk to me about the possibility of cancer and in the next sentence tell me if I want a baby I need Lupron. This makes no sense to me. Also my fiance feels we should be trying for a baby and I would not consider this until I know I do not have cancer. Please give me some advice. Thank you for your time.

I completely understand. It is very anxiety provoking to be told that it could be cancer and see you in three months.
Reading between the lines, i assume that your doctor does not think it is cancer but is also worried that he is missing something. You have had a careful work up and it is unlikely. What you are hearing is your doctor's anxiety.

We are all profoundly humbled by the uncertainties of life. For instance, one can have a normal pap smear but a year later have cervical cancer. this is rare but it occasionally happens. We all get paranoid and want to check alot even if the results come out normal. I suspect that you just have an elevated CA 125. that is your baseline state.
