My mother was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Her CA 125 levels were low than normal. It was 17. She had a suregery and got her ovaries, tubes and uterus removed. And Also some cancer cells are present in her stomach. She has been advised chemo with taxol and carboplatin. The doc will advise the first three cycles and see how she progresses. Is nt the doctor supposed to give her 6 cycles. Also since her CA 125 was low even before the surgery and chemo what will they use to determine her progress.
Her cancer has spread to her stomach. So will the chemo treatments work or will they not. I guess what i am trying to understand is if all metastic cancers do recur later sometime or do they just go away completely as well?
