calcium

I have been diagnosed with stage IIIc ovarian cancer, have had sub-optimal debulking (more than 50% left) and although my CA125 has deceased after each treatment, my CT Scan after my third treament has been refered to as "stable" & the mass seems to have spots of calcium... what does this mean?

Hi there,

It sounds like the chemotherapy is shrinking your cancer but there is still a mass.

Usually after 3 to 4 cycles of chemotherapy, many gyn oncologists consider a second surgery to remove the remainder of the cancer. you should ask your oncologist about that.

Calcium can be present in benign and malignant masses. In and of itself, it does not alter prognosis or increase concern.
