I had a complete H in 1984 because of endemetreosis.  2005 was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer.  The doctor said the tumor is where my Ovary was; and the fact that I was on Hormone Replacement for so many years probably fed it.  I know at the time they had a hard time getting everything out; so if a small piece was left behind I can understand this happening.  once you have a Complete H. you think at least you don't have to worry about those parts, unfortunately that's not the case.
Take care   Sue

YES they can.  I have had both of my ovaries removed and I NOW have a cyst on the right side.  When they took your ovary out they may have left a small microscopic piece behind.  If that happened it is possible for your ovary to regenerate itself and start to function again.  It is called Ovarian Remnant Syndrome.  The one I have now is larger than 5 cm and is wrapped around my urter tube.  I will be having surgery sometime in May to take it out.  What makes you think your ovary has regrown?  Have you been to see your gyn  yet?  Do NOT let your gyn tell you that it is not possible for this to happen because I know of at least 3 other women who have this.  Hopefully Pam will be along soon to give you some advice too.  Take care and keep me posted.  Kasie
