can you help me understand?

Dr. Goodman,
Could you please help me understand a little of my path report ?
Gross Descrip:
recvd parttially fragmented tube/ovarian complex consisting of ovary which upon reconstruction measured 5.5 x 3.8 x 3cm. the tube is a red brown and hemorragic measures 4.3 x 0.8cm diam. The ovary consists predominantly of a collapsed cystic structure. Cyst wall is loosely attached to ovary. Further sectioning showsa calcified mass lesion occuping approx 1/3 of ovary and mass measures 3x3x2.8cm. also shows a pink-tan cut surface on lesion. Nodule submitted for decalcification.

Micro Descrip:
Sections of cyst show features of mature teratoma. Composed of skin epiderm and adnexal structures. Apocrine glands also seen.  Immature cartilage is seen on manu planes with additional areas showing ciliated pseudostratified mucinous secreting epithelium. Immature blasternal components unseen.  Portions of mature bone also seen. Dx will be renedered once decalcified sections examined.

Question:  Could you tell me in what this means?  How can there be mature and immature material? How much of one or ...limit of.. mature to immature material is needed to be able to say what kind of teratoma it is?  This makes 2 of these on same ovary within 10 months. one removed and another grew from nowhere to 4.5 cm within 3 weeks of first tumor removal.  same ovary....so now ovary gone...but its been less than a month since surg and now i am having that old feeling again...swelling....gas...backache.....

I just want to know the diff in making the DX between mature and immature when you have both elements.  i have a wonderful doctor and appreciate him helping to eleviate my pain.  I know he is concerned about me...and i hate to bother him with questions when he is always being pulled on by so many all day.  Thank you Dr Goodman for reading.  Please reply.  Have a good day.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi There,
It sounds like you have a dermoid cyst or a mature teratoma. This is a benign tumor. It also sounds like the final pathology diagnosis will be given once further sections of the specimen are examined.  It would be best to wait until the full report is back.
please let us know the results
best wishes
