complex mass with vascular flow

Super quick back ground. I've been very sick for over a year. I've lost 35 pounds and four of those in the last week.  Been everywhere, told there was nothing wrong, CTs occasionally came back with ovarian cyst/rt side or hydrosalphinx etc.

Because of GI symptoms, been through the whole colon thing, and have been, possibly still considered for Carcinoid Cancer.  I have mostly constipation then the big D.

Always bloated, constantly feel like I have period, achy, etc. Around April some real pain began in my lower back, and abdomen, constantly using a heating pad.  Went into primary thinking it was maybe a kidney infection. He happened to have the results of a CT that an oncologist at NW had ordered in re: to the possibility of carcinoid.

Stick with me, I know this is long. May 12: "Cyst in right adnexal region measuring 5.5X5X4  trace free fluid in cul-de-sac"

May 24: "complex cystic structure 6X3X2 with follicles - resistive index is .4, resistive index .48-posterior position"

They decide to wait one more cycle. I go to the bathroom all the time and feels like there is pressure on my bladder, like when you are pregnant.

O.K. Finally, June 27 ultra sound:  "Tech doesn't see it until she does the vaginal ultrasound, "Mass does not appear to be ovarian, suggest MRI to clarify exact location"

Pathology: Superior to the right ovary there is a complex mass with vascular flow adjacent to the right ovary  3.5x3.4x2.4 cm (does that translate to a 9cm mass, dumb question, I know)

I have had two previous CA 125 elevated, but my last was 27

Vascular flow is not good, right?  and what is this "superior (above) right ovary"
My uterus and edometrium have increased in size.

They have decided on sugury, should I go to a gyn/onc for this?

I think I should be worried about this one.

Thanks for your time and good luck

A CEA value is tumor marker for colon cancer much like other tumor markers it is not a test for cancer but may give some insight.  Your period can cause an elevated CA-125 value - also infections, stress can also cause an elevation of the CA-125 value.

Good luck with your surgery.

Hi there!

I've seen everyone.  Twice.  What is a CEA value?  They said it was in the pelvis, but I don't know what that means, or where they think it is.

Can you offer any insight on vascular flow within mass, also, I forgot to mention that there is now a left aenexal (sp) cyst as well.

Thank you for answering!

If your dr's aren't sure a gyn/onc should be there or at least on call.  Have you seen an internist?  If they don't think the mass is ovarian in nature what do they think?  If they think it might be colon - have you had a CEA value taken?  Might be good idea to have one done.  Keep us posted and good luck.
