Hi,
The surgery went well, the surgeon said that he did have to remove the left ovary and fallopian tube. The cyst was a corpus letum with hemmerhagic (internal bleeding) a lot of scar tissue behind the ovary, which he feels was causeing all of my pain he also removed the 6cm simple cyst I had on the right ovary. If any knows how long does the pain last it is a killer getting up and even walking I feel as though my insides are going to fall out. Also how long does the sore throat last, I also developed a tight chest cough the night of the surgery and it is very painful when I cough. Any similar experiences please share
Best,

Hi LHamilton,
How did your surgery go?
best wishes.
Thank you,
I had a consult with the surgeon and he stated that with the complexity and how did he put it oh yea impressive nature, that I will probably loose my left ovary and maybe the right one as well and I said ok if he needs to (having no more children one is 18 and the other 13) and said possibly a hystorectomey at a later date.I am extremely nervous. Going at noon will keep you posted.

good luck!! Thanks for keeping me posted
Dear LHamilton,
It sounds with your pain, it may be reasonable to take a look inside with a laparoscopy. That is the surgery that uses the same incison through your belly button. It is a day surgery procedure and will give you a definite diagnosis.
best wishes akg
Dear CVille,
It sounds like you need to find a gynecologist that you like and trust. That person can then sit down with you and review all the x-rays you have had and look at the operative note from your surgery. Sometimes it takes putting all the pieces together to understand what is going on - especially if you have had your care at more than one hospital.
Good luck!

had a complete hesterectomy now one hosp said I have an ovary, and the others cyst and lymphnodes. I'm confused and would like to know how I can get a cyst without having ovaries? And why does it seem like the doctors are trying to cover up things from me? I was told if I got a complete hsterectomy I would have no more female problems, now a year later here is problems. Please tell me what my next step should be?
I had to go to the er for exreme pain and bleeding. then I saw the doctor July 3rd. I was told she beleives it is either an endrometrioma or hemerragic cyst. Was told either to wait and see or have the surgery do to the pain and the fact that my cycles are now spread 2 months apart. I confused as to just go for the lap surgury and get it over and have it checked for sure or wait and if it is still there in two weeks will automatically go for surgery. Any one have the surgery when it was your choice.

Hi LHamilton,
It sounds like you are getting a good evaluation by your doctor. Ultimately, one does not know what kind of cyst it is until it is removed surgically. There are definately some cysts that are related to the menstrual cycle. These come and go with ovulation. Cysts that do not go away and are bigger than 4 to 5 cms probably should be evaluated and removed by laparoscopy.
Of course it must be concerning to you. There are many reasons for abdominal discomfort or pain. These include size of the cyst pushing on other structures, twisting of the cyst, the cyst leaking some fluid into the abdomen that causes irritation. Pain in and of itself is not predictive of a cyst being a malignancy. Please let me know what happens.
Take care.
