A complicated cyst is just a cyst that is not simple. It does not just have fluid in it, it has debris, walls, blood, or solid sections etc. in it. No it doesn't always mean cancer. The statistics I saw said if your under 30 it didn't give statistics, if your over 30 it was like 10-15% chance if your over 40 it was a much larger jump I want to say it was around 40% but I really don't remember for certain, I just remember the lower ones.
I am 23 and I have a complex cyst, 3.3cm but that was as of a month ago. Mine is extremely painful and I have to go to the dr again on Wednesday to talk about surgery, not fun. It shouldn't affect your chance to have children, Even if you have one taken out, you still have one good one! It might be a little harder to conceive but I guess that would be the only complication. If it is endometriosis then it will affect future pregnacies.
Hi Kemberly, I have complex cyst and I think 2.5cm. My Ob-Gyn gave me some birth control pills and come back after a month for reevaluation. I'm also worried to death. I'm very curious, how was your visit with your doctor?
just curious ... did you have a complex cyst? Just found out that I have 7.5 cm complex cyst on my left ovary. I'm worried to death that it's going to affect future pregnancies as I am only 27 years old. We go to see the doctor next Tuesday to discuss our options. Any advice or reccommendations ?
NO a complex cyst does not mean cancer at all...it just means that the cyst has solid matter within it.
