confused about alot of things

Hello all, OK Here goes.
Hope this isn't too long but sorry if it is. Went to a new gyn cause of ins. change. Did hormone blood test and i am post menopausal. I told him I've been having what amounts to a regular period every 9 months or so for the past 3 years. My old gyn didn't seem concerned just said i have to go a year before i'm considered post menopausal. Well, this guy seems very thorough. He ordered a transvaginal ultrasound which they said was normal but he wanted to do D & C for bleeding. I thought it was just from transitioning to menopause. Anyway scheduled D & C went for pre op and they called to tell me couldn't do surgery cause hcg was 7 indicative of pregnancy and i just laughed cause there was no way I was pregnant unless we were going to have another Jesus. So they repeated test 1 week later. Still borderline. Then he consulted with a very good gyn onc who said to do more tests. Took a pee preg test was negative. Had thyroid liver and beta hcg quant tests done. He then informed me it was ok to do  D & C. I was confused so i asked him if he was doing it for bleeding or what and he said my lining or something was 26 and he likes it to be under 24 but if i wanted to wait a couple of months and redo tvu i could. I said to go ahead and get it done would rather be safe than sorry but i didn't know what the 26 number was. figured it was uterine lining but with what i looked up my number is very large. Also fyi last period was aug 08 and before that oct 07 b4 that july. Does any 1 understand any of this? Thank you in advance. Oh my pap was fine also. Have never had any trouble except for a couple of abnormal paps but they never needed to do anything after repeat. Thanks again.

Any bleeding after menopause needs to be checked out.  I think since you still have questions you need answers.....I would request an apt with the gyn/oncologist to see what he thinks.
Good luck.
Peace.
