ct results can you help me understand

not sure where to post this but i am scared
3 weeks ago i went to the doctor with bad stomach
pains by the right of my belly button. the did a ct scan and admited me to the hospital saying i had appendicitis and a bad gallbladder.after 2 days of just laying there i was sent home they said my appendex was ok i need gallbladder removed thats set up for 5-10.
today i got a copy of my ct scan it scares me it says
1- cholelithiasis 1 calcified stone 16x18 mm
2- possible appendicits
3-cyst in upper pole of right kidney 21x23 mm
4-enlarged left adrenal gland measures 20x16 mm
this proably represents benign hyperplasia
5-fluid collection or enlarged appendix suggesting appendicitus
also there is a small amount of fluid around the cecum in the right lower quadrant this may be an enlarged appendix. the appendix was not seen clear. there is some inflammatory change.
its been three weeks i still have the pain it comes and goes when i sit i feel like something is ready to bulge on the right side.
also what does unremarkable on a ct scan mean
it says about the gallstone then says the gallbladder is otherwise unremarkable???

It sounds like the appendix can either have a small leak or the sweeling of it is causing fluid because it is foreign to your body.  You also have a good sized stone in your gallbladder.  You can have chronic appendicitis(stays with you and causes pain but does not require immediate attention) that causes you pain but isn't like the acute appendicitis (comes on suddenly and usually ruptures).  I would ask for a consult with a general surgeon to see what he/she thinks.  They can usually do gallbladder and appendix removal laparoscpically.

Hi there....if I was you, or you were my daughter, I would get your test results and go get a second opinion....if you do indeed have a hot appendix you don't want it to rupture..that can be lethal..when they say something is "unremarkable" that means it looks okay.  Again, I would get a second opinion...waiting for an appendix to rupture is not wise.
Peace be with you.

Cysts in the kidneys are not uncommon, but you should have your GP follow-up with tests for kidney function.  These tests should include a "24 hour catch test" (yes, you pee in a special jug for 24 hours and deliver this urine sample for testing!)  It is possible the cyst and the enlarged adrenal gland are related, benign conditions, but you will want to be certain on this matter.

I agree 100 percent with Dian - the appendix most likely should be removed.  It is possible that you have only an inflammed appendix at this time, and that means its condition could worsen.  If your own doctor will not address the issue, then I would pick a name out of the telephone directory (perhaps under general surgery or family medicine/surgery) before I would wait for things to get worse!

unremarkable means nothing significant found. No further promblems found.  Hope your surgery goes well.  I had my gallbladder removed and the surgery really is not that bad. Good luck. Keep up udated.
