Endometrial tissue is just plain odd.  It can grow nearly anywhere in the body - not just in the uterus where it belongs.   One of my doctor's treated a woman who had endometrial tissue in her sinuses and she developed nosebleeds that coincided with her monthly cycle!  So, even if your uterus has been removed, you still have your ovaries, which are still producing the hormones, which can cause the endometrial cells to maintain their usual monthly routine.  It is my understanding that the only way to end it is to remove the ovaries.  Anyway,  I asked because if  you do have endometriosis then that would explain the doctor's comment about "scraping" - the doctor might be referring to removing the endometrial tissues and adhesions that resulted from years of endometriosis.   My own endometriosis was removed by laser; it was burned away.  Your doctor might also be referring to removing any scar tissues that resulted from your previous surgery.  Otherwise, the only "scraping" that I can think of would be a debulking procedure for cancer?  But that does not seem to be your case.

Don't hesitate to schedule another appointment with your doctor to discuss the surgery prior to that date.  It is your body and you have the basic right to understand what will be done, and to offer your input.  And if you are like most people, then you will be as worried as I was - I actually wrote down some of my questions so that I would not forget to ask them.

i got my report of my ultra sound dose this sound like a big difference to you my right ovary measures3.1x1.8x1.7 and my left the one thay are taking out is 3.2x2.5x2.4 could my left be bigger because i have acyst on it but i also found out that i have a few on my right side my dr worte down a 2.2 echoserc portion csys sorry for spelling im trying to read her writing  and she also worte that it was a cyst that became a now complex cyst what is that   thank you worry_me

Complex is a term used in describing a cyst that has septations or "walls" within it.  A simple cyst is not divided in that manner.  Being complex does increase the possibility that a cyst might be malignant, as does having solid areas or thick walls within the cyst.  However, the cyst that I had removed was described as complex, and the cyst also contained solid components, yet it was found to be benign.

All of the tests performed prior to surgery give the doctor an idea of what will be found during the surgery.  Still, until the doctor can view firsthand the situation, the doctor will not know exactly what is wrong.  The ultrasound testing on my ovaries prior to my surgery indicated that my left ovary, the one with the cyst, was enlarged.  During surgery, the doctor discovered that the ovary itself was not enlarged.  The endometrioma (cyst) was not only attached to the ovary and fallopian tube but had crushed the ovary out of its normal shape.  The ovary was so badly damaged by the large cyst that it had blue streaks running through it.  The fallopian tube was stretched to several times its normal size.
