I had a cyst about 5.8 cm and my Ob couldn't feel a think, I am also on the larger side of life. a week ago friday they took it out, as well as the ovary and the tube. I wouldn't worry about OvCa. The only way to find out if its OvCa is to do a biopsy, So I would just focus on getting it out and then work on recovery. Not to worry about it being cancer. Think of it as a cyst, give it a name. I called mine a tangerine (that was about the size of it). It helped me. Good luck on your journey Deb.

brettspike: 10 cm is about 4 inches according to my ruler. If by "10 cm cyst" you mean the diameter of the cyst is 10cm, then it's about a grapefruit size!
Ovarian Cancer is also known as the "disease that whispers" as there are more often than not no symptoms at all, or at least symptoms that could be explained away by any number of things. A lot of women here talk about experiencing a lot of pain and then being dx with an ovarian cyst. I had "no symptoms" for my ovarian cyst, but now looking back, I realise I did have an increase in pain during ovulation and certainly there were certain positions during intercourse that hurt, I also had much heavier periods (as I said previously, I could quite easily explain all of the above away as lots of other things). Once an ovarian cyst is located, a diagnosis of ovca cannot be made until surgery (or a biopsy is taken). Wishing you well. Drop into the Cyber party!
You're not alone, we all know what you are going through, and it's the pits! The first cyst I had when I was in my teens was grapefruit sized. I lost that ovary but did fine. I have had cysts that they could only see on the US, not feel. It is good you are going to an oncologist, they are the best! Don't panic, although it is almost impossible not to, as you say, your mind plays tricks on you.
They have to remove it and biopsy it to determine it is benign.
You will be in our prayers on Tuesday, Love, Katie
