cysts and bloating

by sm77, Jul 03, 2007 12:00AM
I'm 29 y/o and right before I became pregnant with my 3rd child I had a ultrasound that showed a fluid filled, small cyst behind my uterus. My ob/gyn said it looked ok but wanted to do a laparoscopy anyway. I found out I was pregnant and surgury was cancelled. The cyst became smaller during my pregnancy and now I am 8 mos post partum and am just recently having alot of bloating and some mild cramping that comes and goes. My cycle is typically normal. My dr says when he did my c-section, he didn't see anything abnormal and my pelvic exam turned out fine. He said to wait until my next cycle to see if the symptoms go away. Are cysts common in that area? And would they cause these symtoms?

Hi There,

It sounds like you are in good hands. I completely agree with your doctor. these are common. A follow up pelvic ultrasound is the appropriate next step
