Ok, I just got my preliminary report back and was wondering if a helpful professional could tell me what may be in store for me soon and possibilities to expect (I have an appointment with a specialist soon, but would like a heads up as well). I'm 27 years old. Here goes:

Findings: Transverse and longitudinal images of the pelvis were obtained transabdominally. The uterus measure approximately 9.9 x 5.0 x 4.2 cm. The endometrial stripe measures 1.8 cm.

The right ovary measures 3.1 x 1.9 x 3.6 cm and appears to be within normal limits.

A large complex mass is seen within the left adnexa. This measures approximately 8.4 x 5.2 x 8.4 cm. This appears primarily hypoechoic and appears to have both internal echoes and septations. Through transmission is seen. No free fluid is present.

Conclusion:

1. 8.4 x 5.2 x 8.4cm complex left adnexal mass. Differential considerations include a cystic ovarian neoplasm, a complex, hemorrhagic cyst, or an endometrioma, a teratoma is felt to be less likely but possible.

Hi There,
This looks like a pretty benign cyst. However, given it's size, if it does not go away after a menstrual cycle, a laparoscopy to remove it maybe reasonable.
please let us know what happens
take care

Dr. Goodman,
I wrote to before a about a complex cyst that I had back in October 07. I had a Ca-125 test that showed 9.9 and a follow up ultrasound, in december that showed the cyst disappeared.

Recently I have the same signs and symptoms as before and had another ultrasound
It shows the right ovary measures as 1.3 x 1.5 1.7cm showing a cyst of no fluid2.1x 2.1x 3.6

The left ovary measures 1.0 x1.4x1.7 with a simple cyst measuring 1.9x2.7x 2.8

At this point, is it common for to have them so soon, should I still be concerned of a Ca-125,  Should I prompt to ask her to r/o PCOS? Are there any other remedies to this situation?

To: Hello
This is "cystsress" , just wanted to let you know that I did end up having to have it removed by laparoscopy. The lab results found it to be a benign tumor but also endometriosis.
