dermoid cyst

I was recently told I likely have a dermoid cyst of the left ovary (after physcial exam, ultrasound and CT scan). My GYN is awaiting the results of my CA-125 and AFP lab results before scheduling the surgical removal of the mass. I wanted to know your opinion if it is prudent to go with my OB/GYN for this surgery or should I consult a GYN/ONC physcian first if my lab results are normal.

Also the mass is 9-10cm is it common to have one removed of this size laproscopically?

I just had one about that size removed laproscopically.  Be sure if you have this procedure and are released the same day that you lay flat on your back.  I had  a horrible time with pain in my neck and shoulder due to the gas.  Good luck
