doxil side effects continue

i had my last treatment of doxil my last ca 125 is now 15 -and has been for the last 3 tests (months)-now i have read about other side effects-i had not read about- ringworm-i just happened to search for  ring worm and doxil-there are many sites that discuss this fungus in relationship to doxii as well as other side effect that maybe less known like the possbilities of blood related cancers several years down the line-thou those may be  less information available about it- the skin  blisters and mouth ulcers i have read will disappear as time goes on-  but i'm still waiting-and the the  rash on my legs and feet-in between my  fingers continues.any cuts or scratches on my feet or legs  seem to become worse and more itchy and irritated as days go by-i have made  every attempt to be careful while doing yard work-a nasty   throaty cough seems to have developed.unknown if its related to  the side effects--doing a search for each side effect related  to doxil turns up numerous possibilities.and yes i know the alternative is far worse  and  even fatal -so what can one do but wait be grateful ? thank you and my best to everyone.i know having faith  and confidence in the medical tram that has brought me back from stage four  ovaerian cancer might be  the best way to go. and i can never say thank you enough to these people.and the staff at the hospital.

It might be worth it to see a dermotologist about the rash that continues.  I was under the impression that it would eventually go away as the chemo leaves one's system.  It's possible, however, it made you develop some kind of fungus that a topical cream or oral medication might be able to help.  I was lucky in that it didn't do anything to me except the mouth sores and thrush.  It took a while for that to go away, and I still have issues with it 2 years out from Doxil.  Yeast can also irritate skin, so it wouldn't be surprising if it could be that.

What other chemos have you been on besides Doxil?  I'm asking because of the cough you mentioned that you have developed.  If you have been on a lot of chemo over the years, it's possible chemo toxicity can develop in your lungs.  It sounds worse than it is, though.  Taxol can cause it, but especially Gemzar.  It's basically congestion that forms in your lungs as a reaction to chemo.  It might show up in a scan as something similar to pneumonia.  It isn't pneumonia, though, and antibiotics won't help it.  Is your cough a dry cough, and does it get worse when you lay down?  So far, I've been told that breathing treatments can help, but nothing but time will heal it.  I see a respiratory specialist to monitor my progress, and it is slowly getting better.  My last scan two weeks ago showed my lungs are clear, finally.

Best wishes to you.

Gail
