endo or transvaginal u/s and role of birth control pills

by concerned canuk, Aug 12, 2004 12:00AM
What is the difference between endovaginal and transvaginal u/s and importance of full bladder or not during this procedure for ovca screening? I am scheduled to have a follow up endovaginal u/s prior to my surgery. Should i be asking for the u/s with the "doppler?" and is this a better diagnotic tool?

Also, i understand being on birth control pills decreases your risk of getting ovca. Does it play any role or have any benefit to be on them (having not previously been on them for 10+ yrs) while waiting(2 mons) for a biopsy/laparoscopy to determine if a suspicious growth is indeed malignant? If it is ovca, how would the hormones in the pill potentially after a tumors growth?

I meant to say, How could the hormones in the pill potentially affect a tumors growth if it was malignant?
