I am very thankful to those of you who have posted comments to my questions... It is a lot more than I have been getting from my Doctors office.... After my excruciating pains on Friday, I tried calling my doctor; with no return call before the weekend.. I am starting to get pains in my lower back again, along with the same fullness I was experiencing prior to my incident on Friday.. I called docs office again this morning - leaving a voice mail full of symptoms and expressing my worry.. Stating "I want my US ASAP (like yesterday lol)" BUT I STILL have not heard from them; and I swear when I press deep in to my pelvicKegel exercises Pelvic adhesions Pelvic inflammatory disease (pid) Pelvic laparoscopy Prostatitis - nonbacterial Uterine prolapse area I can feel something the size of a walnut (hasnt moved in three days) Maybe I am being neurotic or overly worried; but I am really feeling ignored and vulnerable.. My sister had a hysterectomyHysterectomy Hysterectomy - series last year because of FibroidFibroid tumors Uterine fibroids Tumors - and she has a great doctor.. If I want to see someone else can I just make an appointment, and explain to my current Doc that I dont feel I am being treated as I should be? (it has been a week since my last appointment; she was concerned enough then to do CA125 testing and refer me for an US...but I am getting frustrated waiting.. My sisters doc did all testing same day)
Yes, it sure if frusttrating to be waiting. Your sister was lucky to have dr who moved quickly. However, it is more the norm to wait...even after a cancer dx...you still wait. That has been one of the most maddening things for me. Thankfully, my gyn/oncs nurse will tell me results over the phone but I still have to wait for due process (insurance, scheduling, etc.) to move forward with scans, etc. I think if you have a transvaginalTransvaginal ultrasound ultrasound and blood in the works, you should stick with it and wait for the results. Just for an example, this is how my pre dx went...dr. felt mass on my ovary...came back to his office week later for transvaginalTransvaginal ultrasound ultrasound..sent same day for MRI and CA125. A couple of days passed and then results came back which sent me to gyn/onc. I had lots of insurance issues and waited a month from the firstFirst progesterone mc10 First progesterone mc5 First-progesterone vgs 100 First-progesterone vgs 200 First-progesterone vgs 25 First-progesterone vgs 400 First-progesterone vgs 50 First-testosterone First-testosterone mc knowledge of a confirmed 6cm complex tumor to the actual surgery. I was staged 1a. Hopefully, you are one of the majority who do have a benign outcome. If you get your tests and still don't feel in sync with your new doc, then I think second opinion is is order. Otherwise, I think you will get faster results to just wait for these tests. Best wishes. :)
