gaping post-surgery incision

Ladies --
Yesterday my stapes came out; small strips of tape were placed over the incision. Today I notice that several areas of the incision seem to be gaping; towards the pubis, the gap is about 1/2" wide. There's dark pink showing between the edges of skin, and the entire incision is oozing a small, intermittent amount of pale yellow liquid.

Is this normal? Should I be concerned?
Thanks,
Annette

A little clear oozing is not a problem, but the yellow was the red flag of your story.  Going back to check it out is the right thing for your doc to do.

If it is oozing then I would call my doctor.  Mine had opened 2 time but no oozing and no redness to this time I just opted to let it heal on its own.  Dont wait to long you dont want an infection.  Good Luck hun I am thinking of you.

Thanks, all. I just got back from seeing the surgeon. He sealed the incision with silver nitrate, then had his nurse steri-strip it. I'm supposed to go back again Monday morning for him to take a look. Does that sound like the right thing was done? The nurse asked the doc if I need antibiotics, and he said he doesn't think so at this time. I have no fever, and the oozing is very minor.

Again, thanks to all -- you guys are amazing!
