There is someone on the Hystersisters website that had radiation for OvCa at MD Anderson. She is one of the only people that I know of that has had radiation for OvCa.

Unfortunately, recurrence of this disease is very common.  There will be many others along that can talk to you about recurrences and the chemos that they are taking.

Since the re-currence is almost 2 years out, why are they not going back to Carbo/Taxol?

Best of luck to you...and keep us posted.

I was diagnosed in 05, recurrence diagnosis made in January 07 with tumor on the diaphram and sitting on the liver also had some abdominal seeds.  I just completed 6 rounds of Carboplatin and Doxil, I will celebrate after I have my scan next week, my CA 125 does not increase so it is not a marker for me.  I am with nyc lady on the radiation, do you just have one area?  This is not a joy ride, there is a surprise around every corner.  Positive energy to you, and do keep us posted.

I have had radiation, more as a control measure than as an attempted cure.  They radiated the part that was causing me pain and shrunk it back to a size where it didn't.  (at that point my cancer hadn't even blinked at most of the traditional chemos) It was pretty easy going really - 10 sessions of about 10 minutes in total, I was a little tired but otherwise had no side effects.

Hope it goes as well for you.

Like nyc lady I do wonder why they haven't given you taxol and carboplatin again though.

on one of my visit to the doctor he found a spot on the vagina wall, my c/s were all neg after 2 biospys the doctor could pin pont it , my ca 125 had gone from 60 to 120 so he knew some thing was there,a panel of doctors discuss my problem and decieded to go with the radiation and a 3 to 5 times with the cone radiation to boost up the 25 trips to the center, thanks for the help.

I had radiation treatment for my brain tumor mets over the course of 3 weeks. a total of 15 sessions.  Other than fatigue and hair loss, it wasn't bad.  Much easier than the chemo.  We are monitoring my progress with MRI scans since my CA125 is not an accurate indicator.  So far things appear to be stable.  I hope it goes well for you.
