help with small cell ovarian cancer

by katy57, Mar 07, 2004 12:00AM
My niece is 20 and was just diagnosed with small cell cancer of ovary.  she lives in GErmany.  It is rare and difficult to treat. I noticed there was a message by April who has survived this cancer.  she had mentioned she would like to help others who might have it.  we are struggling to find the best therapy for her.  If I could reach April or any other kind of help would be grateful.  katy

Hi there - I saw this posting on small cell and wanted to reply.  I've just passed my 4 year anniversary of diagnosis with small cell ovca.  I was frustrated in the beginning to not find anyone else with whom to share stories or discuss treatment options.  Gradually I found people online who were long term survivors, recently diagnosed, finishing treatment.  I started a group on yahoo so we could all keep in touch and help answer questions or just prove that other women with small cell are out there.

We are a small group, but generally responsive to email postings.  If you're interested in joining or checking it out, the link is: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/smallcellovca/

Best wishes to all,
Sarah

Hello, my name is Kathie and I was diagnosed with small cell ovarian cancer when I was 25, in 2006. I'm cancer free now but I'm still under close supervision because there's a high chance it will return within 5yrs after treatment. I didn't have people to talk to at the time and don't want anyone feeling alone. If anyone has any questions please feel to contact me at ekyung.***@****

Best wishes to you!

Hi,

My sister was diagnosed with this (small cell cancer) last November. She turned 38 the same month. She is on a feed of morphine which has knocked her for six & I am very frightened for her. She said she could feel the tumor in her side before Christmas. Now she can feel it on both sides. She has been given chemo therapy since November. I don't know what to do. Can anybody provide guidence?
