Pam, HI.. yes the ultrasound is vaginal and will be done monday. He did just a vaginal exam.He said I was not in menopause due to the fact LH is high and estrogen is normal.. This is so confusing to me.. I am calling the office thursday to see if they recieved by blood work yet.. It was done on Monday.

You need to be seen by a GYN to start.  Let them do a transvaginal sonogram and find out what is going.  If there is something to worry about after you see the GYN...then I would suggest a GYN/Oncologist, not because it might be cancer...they are the experts with 3 years additional training and treat many benign conditions.  What type of ultrasound?  Was it transvaginal?  Also, did he do a recto/vaginal exam, or just a vaginal exam???  PCPs are not the best for dealing with these issues....please, start with at least an OB/GYN....let them run some tests and see what is going on.  If you are still ovulating than it is quiet possible that the cysts are functional and will go away by your next menstral cycle...skipping your period for a couple of months could be signs of perimenopause.  Your FSH level is high and would indicate menopause....google FSH levels and menopause, etc....your level is higher than mine and I am in surgical menopause.  As for OvCa, he will not find any abnormal cells unless someone biopsies the masses...there is no way to diagnosis OvCa without a biopsy.  While your doctor is at least taking it to the next level, he does not seem to be explaining what is going on and what he is looking for....please, if you can, be seen by at least an OB/GYN to start.

I am 46. he determined that i was not perimenopause by my estrogen. I am seeing pcp. I had an ultrasound, actually 2 in the past year. He felt the uterus when he did my pap test/exam.  I have no idea what type of cysts they are. He did the exam and kinda rushed out of the room.. when i asked what he was looking for he said abnormal cells.

I do not know what the connection between an FSH level and CA125 would be...one has nothing to do with the other.

How old are you? How did he determine that you are not perimenopausal?  What type of doctor are you seeing?  How does he know that you have cysts on our ovaries?  or that the uterus is swelled by 3 inches?  What type of cysts are they.

Your doctor threw a lot at you without any explanations and without more info it hard for us to help you figure out what might be going on.  Remember most ovarian cysts, well over 90 percent are benign.
