I had total hysterectomy and my sex drive is as good as ever (maybe better) and that's coming from a 46 year old broad....lol.

Everyone is different, so no guarantees. I have read though that your mind set can infuence it. I was a little frightened things would change, but then did some reading and found it didn't have to be so. I am on HRT, but not for libido, only for hot flashes.

A patient loving partner helps also! And maybe some more foreplay and also lubrication is usually standard fare.

If she needs the operation, please don't get yourselves "psyched out". Just let her heal and then all will be ok.

Good luck!

For me it completely changed my sex life.  Before it was too painful, now I can enjoy pain free sex.  My drive has not been affected at all.  I am not currently taking HRT either.  Everyone is different, so I'm sure you will receive various responses to your inquiry.

Good luck!

For me, it  has completely destroyed my sex life.  I am married to a wonderful husband, but with my ovaries gone, I have absolutely no sex drive.  Sex is very painful now even with lubrication.  I was told to keep having sex to keep the muscles strong, but my husband is afraid of hurting me, so he never initiates sex.  I can still climax, but since I have no desire, and my husband won't initiate, we rarely have sex.
