i p chemo anyone

DID ANYONE HAVE ANY IP CHEMO. I HAD FOUR ROUNDS CISPLATIN AND TAXOL, THEN  4 ROUNDS CARBOPLATIN AND TAXOL IV. I COULD NOT TAKE MORE THAN 4 IP , IT MADE ME SO SICK. THE THEORY WAS ANY IP WAS BETTER THAN NONE. NO CHEMO SINCE JAN 3RD, NOTHING ON PET CT, BUT. SEPT 14 CA125 WAS 76. I KNOW ITS PROBABLY BACK SOMEWHERE. IS REMISSION TIME FIGURED FROM SURGERY OR LAST CHEMO? IF ITS ALREADY BACK FROM CHEMO, THIS IS ONLY 6 OR 8 MONTH REMISSION.WONDER IF CAN TAKE CARBO AND TAXOL THIS SOON. MY HAIR IS JUST NOW LIKE A PIXIE CUT. I FELT REALLY GOOD MARCH TO JULY THEN STARTED WITH ALL THIS JOINT PAIN AND TIRED.FEELING, BUT WENT BACK TO WORK IN MARCH AND STILL GOING. I AM VERY DEPRESSED THIS  LAST WEEK SINCE WORRYING ITS ALREADY BACK.NO ONE  IN MY DAILY LIFE REALLY WANTS TO TALK ABOUT IT, THEY SAY ITS NOT BACK, KIND OF A DENIAL THING , I WOULN T HAVE MADE IT WITHOUT READING THIS FORUM ALMOST EVERYDAY. THANKS,BLESS ALL, (ONE ODD THING I KNOW 3 PEOPLE THAT HAVE GOTTEN AND DIED FROM OTHER TYPES CANCER SINCE I WAS DIAGNOSED. ONE WAS A 33 YR OLD MAN AT MY BANK, A SKIN MELONOMA WAS REMOVED,HE WAS DISMISSED AS OK, THEN IT SHOWED UP IN LUNGS. HE TOOK CHEMO AT VANDERBILT BUT HE PASSED AWAY IN JAN.) I COULD GO GET ANOTHER CA125 AT MY REG DR BUT I DONT EVEN WANT TO KNOW BECAUSE IT HAS BEEN DOUBLING SINCE JULY. I SEE GYN/ONC AGAIN .THE 19TH

I had 2 rounds of IP followed by 4 rounds of IV with same protocol as yours. I thought the comments and advice Dr Goodman gave you last week were good way to think about things.

It has to be especially difficult to have increasing numbers, but clear scans. Hope your upcoming appt will define what is going on---please keep us posted. Hang in there.

I finished IP chemo for OvCa, 6 cycles, and can just imagine what you are going through. My prayers are with you.  As Conquerer said, you may be back on the same drugs, but your gyn/onc can probably tell you more when you see him/her.  Any thoughts on getting an earlier appointment? Your primary care MD may use a different lab and the results may be hard to compare.  You are doing the right thing by going for follow up.  Don't give up the fight.  There are a lot of options for treatment if this turns out to be a recurrence.

I had eight round of IP.  I can't tell you why but I never got sick.  Plus the type of cell often deturmines how successfulchemo is.  But since you are 6 months out since chemo you can go back to the dame drugs.  I know cases where after the first recurrance women have had over ten years cancer free.  Don't worry you are in a good place and can continue to fight.
