I was diagnosed with Endometreosis at age 17. I was away at business school and began passing out. I already had a history of cysts on the ovaries. When I went to the local hospital they thought I had an STD. I told them of my history and they wanted to give the meds for the std anyway. They didn't do an ultrasound and I wasn't forceful so I didn't think to ask for one. I went home to my hometown and saw a Dr. I had surgery the next day. They said that would fix it. That wasn't true. There is no cure for this condition. The good news is it is not cancer and does not kill you. It can make life very challenging though and needs to be dealt with.
Your symptoms sound very familiar to me. Pain sometimes during sex, sometimes immediately following. Reaaly weird periods and cycle affecting UTI'S and bm.
The only way to diagnose endometreosis is to have exploratory surgery. It does not show up on ultrasound. The standard diagnostic tool is Laproscopy- they use a scope inside your belly button to look around your pelvic region. The recovery time is only 3-5 days. Make sure they have you sign paperwork for a laproscopy with laser so they can "zap" any sites of endo while they're in there. This only two small incisions- one in your umbilicus and one at the top of pubic bone( no shaving necessary).
If you do have endometreosis there is a lot to know before you begin treatment. You have options - look into them. I am no Dr,simply someone who's been through the ringer with this problem.
My best advise- Do not go for the temporary menapause hormone treatment. There are various drugs they all have unforseen consequences. All deplete calcium from bone and at your age that doesn't sound like a big deal. Trust me, you won't be that age for long and you only get one set of bones. These drugs have a 6 month lifetime maximum because of the risks. Take that seriously. Another consideration is - chemically induced temporary menapause as a treatment of endometreosis is only effective 50% of the time. Those odds are not worth it!!!
I really don't mean to sound negative. This is manageable. You simply have to be an advocate for yourself in the treatment process. I am blessed to have an OB/GYN who always says- you know when somethings wrong with your body, you live in it.
Hey there kid...if you were my daughter I would taake you to a different gynocologist and request you have ultrasounds done, both internal and external....if you have cysts they might be found. Pain during intercourse is something you need to pay attention to....that coupled with bowel problems means something is not right and you need to find out what it is. Don't be a "nice little girl" and let them dismiss you with a pat on the head. You said you are a college student and funds are an issue......is there a clinic available to you on campus? Is there a chance Planned Parenthood could help? So far as surgery goes.....you don't yet have a reason......first find out what is going on. Please do stay in touch.
Peace.

Hi I am sorry you are in so much pain. does this pain follow your period? If so you may have endometreosis. If the pain follows your period I would try the birthcontrol pill first. Look up endometreosis on a searh engine.
