Has anyone have or had a area of the incision site that does not want to heal? I have a area of about 2/3 of a inch long that just will not close. My dr said just keep it clean and dry. I've done this and it still want heal. The staples were removed this Tues was a week ago then they put the strips on they wold not stay on due to the some drainage, Thanks for any help

Yes, I had a very similar problem and it took about 3 weeks from when my staples were out until it closed up.  This this is normal so try not to worry too much and follow your Dr's advice - clean and dry.  I was told to avoid washing with soap - should keep the wound complely clear of soap.  Hope you get better soon.

Sorry to hear about your incision. But, I had surgery about 2mths and 2weeks ago and mines was taking its time healing. My doc told me the same thing. But, I started cleaning it with peroxide and put a sterile gauze pad over it and it had started healing and is almost closed. But, I know exactly how you feel about that situation. Hope this will help.

Sorry to hear about your incision.  That's such a pain to deal with...you just want it to close, and be done with it.  Depending on the depth of the incision opening...not the length of it...your doc will either tell you to do a sterile packing or just place a bandage over it.  The problem is that incisions need to heal from the inside out when they're open like this one.  Call your doc and tell him/her what's going on...be sure to tell them that the steri-strips aren't staying on AT ALL.  If you need to be packing the site, it's really not that difficult to do.  My husband has done it here at home for me on two separate occasions.  Some of the women here have done it for themselves.  Good luck...keep us posted!
peace,
Anne
