increased vascular flow, complex mass

I am having surgery on Tuesday to remove/investigate a complex ovarian mass with increased vascular flow. From what I understand increased vascular flow is the most important indication of cancer detectable from ultrasound.

My resistive index is >.41

Can anyone comment on this?

I am not able to speak to your " resistive index " as I am not familiar with it. I will say I can understand how much stress there is in the wait for surgery.....Tuesday will be here before you know it. I am curious as to who is doing your surgery.....YOU HAVE ONLY ONE CHANCE TO GET IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME.....make absolutely certain you have a gyn/oncologist at your side during surgery.....this is their arena of specialty. Please do keep us posted....I will listen for your voice again.

I agree 100% with Dian you need a gyn/onc at the surgery. I'm surprised that more testing hasn't been done and that you weren't referred to a gyn/onc. By more testing I mean a ct scan or a ca-125? I also don't know anything about your resistive index either! Good luck and as Dian said please keep us posted~~~~Joanne
