intense pain in vaginal/uterus area

My wife,(44 years old) who has a family history of ovarian cancer (Mother & Granmother)has had very intense pain for several weeks that seems to be coming from her uterus and or vaginal area. She also has probelms with shortness of breath, so much that she can barley walk up a flight of stairs. She has recently had an endometrial biopsy and a pelvic ultrasound. The biopsy did not show anything and we do not have the results from the ultrasound done 7/23/04. She has had pains like these (sometimes the pains come with a heavy feeling in her chest) off and on for several years and the doctors she has seen can find nothing wrong. Excuse me but it is not normal to be in such excrutiating pain. For alomst two weeks now she has been discharging some bloody material that she describes as looking like veins. At this point I don't know how to help her and the doctors can seem to be able to find a problem. Where should I go from here?

Has your wife been evaluated for anemia?  I had symptoms like you describe with being out of breath and a heavy chest feeling, and I was thinking maybe I had CHF.  It turned out I had severe anemia, with a hemoglobin of 6.8.  Just a thought.
