ip interferon

Anyone heard of IP interferon to help with fluid build up in abdomen.  They are also talking of a lung procedure involving a chest tube and a powder in my lung to help aleviate the fluid in my lung.  Neither one sounds very pleasant but if it does the job I'M ok with it.  The way I am feeling now I don't think I want the 3rd Doxil - I would prefer to move on to something else.

Hi Annie...It took 3 Doxils for me, before the numbers came tumbling down. If you can manage it, try and give it another one or two treatments, and you should get some good results then. It's known that Doxil doesn't work too quickly, so nothing much shows until at least the 3rd. treatment. I hope you will soon be feeling much better. Hugs...Helmar.

Dear Annie:

Thanks for this post. This is an excellent option for women with Ovarian cancers. Based on the two studies that I have read, it looks even much better than Avastin and definitely superior to Doxil, although Avastin is excellent in removing ascites or fluid buildup.

Doxil stopped the fuild build up or ascites in my wife on the first or second treatment. It was the easiest treatment for her re side effects. But Interferon results are very promising. I have never seen a clinical study where the complete response rate (meaning remission) for 2nd line was that high.

For references here the three links:

I pray that you get much better pretty soon.

What they do with the chest tube, is put it into the space that lines the lung and then put in a medication.  The medication is irritating to the tissue and seals off the space, preventing further fluid build up.  The instillation of the medication is painful, however they do give meds for the pain.
The interferon treatment I know know nothing about, however Jatoo as always came through.  Thinking of you, your in my thoughts and prayers.
