I would expect it to be possible to have an endometrioma, or to have endometriosis, as long as you have ovaries.  Endometriosis is caused when endometrial tissue grows outside of the uterus where it is supposed to grow.  These rogue cells can be anywhere, from inside the abdomen to inside the nasal sinuses.  As long as the ovaries are producing the hormones that make the tissues swell and later bleed, then I would think they would continue to function even if the uterus itself has been removed.

However, my doctor believed from the test results that my cyst was either an endometrioma or a dermoid.  What else does your doctor say about what he or she thinks the cyst is, or is not?
