All of the women above are right. It can be cured but most often if it is found in the early stages. In the later stages it can be managed, as a chronic disease. And yes it can go into remission at any stage. But the thing to remember is that as each of us are different, so are our cancers. So whether it is early or lte stage, there is always hope.

Hi,
My Mum had Ovarian cancer (not too sure what stage) nearly fourteen years ago and is well and happy today with no recurrence.
You have come to the right place to be informed by some amazing women.
Peace and love..Kim
nyc lady is correct. There is a woman in my office who's mother was diagnosed Stage 4 and her oncologist had basically given up on her. Another gyn/onc was called in (he later became my gyn/onc) and he said he thought there were some other things he could try. It's over 30 years later and she's still going strong. She later beat breast cancer also. There is always hope. Chris P
Ovarian Cancer can be cured in any stage, although the higher the stage the likeliness of long term remission fades. The rate of recurrence in stage 3 and higher is between 70 and 95 percent....I have a friend, 20 years 11 months in remission from stage 3C....it can and DOES happen.
Very early stages of OVCA are curable. Unfortunately, the majority of cases are found when it has spread to other organs, lymph nodes, etc. Then, the disease does become chronic and you do what you have to do to keep alive. Everyday newer meds are coming on the market. A better blood test will be available in the future. For now, it's on and off chemo.
It depends on the stage. For many, it is a "chronic" condition, which recurs, is treated, recurs, is treated, etc.
