hello soniek! i read a post of yours from 12/10. first of all, i am so sorry that you have to go through all of that pain. i am in fear that i will be right there with you soon. i had a lot of blood in my stools for one day 4 times, but it was so much it scared the **** out of me (no pun intended)! the doc isnt doing anything and you are the first person that i have seen mention this symptom. what is it for you? chrones? if you dont mind explaining, i would definitely appreciate it. if you dont want to, i understand. thanks for any words of wisdom... peace and comfort- becca

hi there...this is so weird that you posted this to me now,as this discussion just came up 2 days ago on the hyster-sister site also....i was originally dx with irritable bowel syndrome, then on to infamatory bowel disease, then after a colonoscopy the dx was"up graded"if you will to chrones....i myself am aweful about getting myself medical treatment, and i have not been treated for it in over 6 years..i dont bleed all the time, but, when the diareah is bad,the bleeding begins..however,and i know this is grphic and im sorry for all who are reading,it does not appear as red blood or bright red blood as you may think...usually if its bright red, then its more of a hemroid type thing, when i am bleeding from the chrones itself,it appears very dark, almost black, and appears to look like pieces of skin(again, sorry to be so graphic)..i do not believe this is a direct link as to whats going on with my overies and the complex cyst i now have...i have been battleing the chrones since i was pregnant at 16....i was originally told the horrid stomach attaccks were my gall bladder...so,it was takin out..however,within 3 days of my surgery, the chronic diareah started...what finally got a doctors sttention was the fact that i had lost over 85 pounds, from using the bathroom so much....there are some days, far and few between, that it isnt so bad,but on a average,i am in the bathroom with no exageration,12-14 times a day....if your having these tpes of problems, please go see your doc..i have no excuse for not seeing mine..my husband has made me swear that after my hysterectomy on the 26..once i get healed from that, that i return to my gastro doc,and get the meds that i need....but,if you are bleeding, call your doc and make a appointment, you need to find out why...there are gobs of new treatments for this stuff, and with those meds, you can live a painfree life(and not be in the bathroom a zillion times)...im to the point where i cant even go out to eat anymore...its truely affecting my everyday life, and how silly is it that i let it get this way, when i could have been treated by a doctor this whole time???please go see your doc,and please keep me posted on what happens...sonie

thanks soniek. again, i am so sorry that you have to go through that. i am not in the bathroom quite that much, but i go back and forth between diarrhea and constipation, also with days where neither happens. the doc has ruled out hemhroids by looking into the first foot of my colon and rectum, where he found nothing, but for some reason he doesnt want to do the colonoscopy unless it happens again. my gyno appt. is tomorrow, thank goodness, cause i really need some answers for a ton of frustrating symptoms. i will keep you posted. thanks for your response, and hang in there! i really hope that you do indeed get the attention and meds that you need. love and comfort- becca

Hi everyone, Well I know how you feel with the blood. The main thing is making sure you haven't lost too much.  I went to the hospital.  I also have IBS and have in the past had to wear a pad from the bleeding.  I think it was from an internal hemmroid(sp.) I was diagnosed with.  Also I know how it feels to be sick to your stomach alot. I have a disease that causes you to either be constipated or diahrea, severe cramping with attacks, along with major allergies. You either drop weight or gain it off and on.  Dr.'s tested me for just about everything and with sypmtoms and some of my results I have a clinical Diagnosis of Systemic Mastocytosis.
