I was on my last day of my period when I had my laparotomy last year...the doctor was actually happy about the fact that I had my period at the time of surgery.

I started my period the day I went in for my laparotomy.  I also had a viscious migraine due to starting my period (had those on a regular basis).  When I woke up after surgery, no migraine and I bled lightly for only three days.  A laprascopy may be different, however, I don't think it will matter if you are on your period or not.

Take care,
Lisa

I had my 1st laporotmy on my period, I bled for 2 months straight so they did not have much choice. I don't think it really would change anything, they go in through your abdomon around your belly button and pubic line well for me anyway.
