lung cancer lymph nodes?

Hi
I am not sure if im in the right place, im trying to find info on lung cancer and lymph nodes..my mum has a 14mm tumour and surgery has been suggested but the report says that 8mm pretracheal lymph node and 8mm hilar lymph node may have involvment does this mean it has spread to lymph nodes? we are confused as the consultant said surgery could be done

No, you are not in the right place...but an acquaintance of mine was diagnosed with a lung tumor.  Further studies showed the cancer had spread to the lymph nodes.  In his case, surgery was performed to remove the tumor from the lung, and radiation and chemotherapy were administered to help control the further spread of the disease.

My younger sister had lung cancer.We are from Ohio, but found that one of the best places, with some of the most cutting edge treatments and research is the MD Anderson clinic in Houston Texas. There is a surgeon there named Dr. Swisher who is awesome. I wish you and your family good luck in your journey...
