mum back in hospital again!!

hi thanks for all your replys regarding my mums post surgery probs, she still wasnt feeling too great today, so i decided to phone oncologist, he admitted mum straight back to hospital to get her sorted, he said mum came out of hospital too soon (she aint happy about being back), but knows she has to so she can feel better. our gp y/day told us to up the oxynorm, hospital said today to stop them as this is whats giving her the terrible constipation and then all the other horrible symptoms come along with it. its very frustrating as a daughter and a caregiver that you are told different things by different docs etc., you never know what to do for the best, i was also told she would never get constipated again, and here she is after a few days with it worse than before, sorry to have a moan just find it all so strange. hope everyone is well

hi, thanks for posting your question, mum out of hospital now, they think it is all to do with constipation, but now shes not constipated but still in a lot of pain, taken all meds away from her apart from paracetamol, she had staples taken out yesterday and was told her scar is beautiful lol. all of this from the cancer and chemo and surgery is just a rollercoaster of emotions etc. isnt it?? its all a lot to take in as a daughter let alone for my poor mum going through it all it must be awful, and she is so strong and trying so hard to stay upbeat, it is all just so hard to see someone you love so much go through all of this. we just lost my dad to cancer in october so its all doubly hard, i dont mean to sound sorry for myself but it is all very hard, and all of you wonderful women having to go through this all just breaks my heart, sometimes its very hard to stay positive isnt it?? i hope you are doing well xx

The problem with painkillers - they slow your intestines and cause problems like constipation, which leads to even more pain!

I hope they're able to sort everything out for your mum.  Hugs to both of you.

Oh girl, you and your mum have had a time of it.  You both are in my thoughts and prayers.  I surely hope they get things straightened out and your mum starts feeling better.
