Hi there! just a quick question.....

ive been diagnosed with a 6.3cm complex cystic mass on my left ovary about a month ago, ive been experiencing some sever nausea after meals, it seems to be getting more intense. i just didnt know if anyone has gone through this and what they found to help aliviate (sp?) the nausea.

any info would be appreciated

Please keep us up to date. I've read that the general rule of thumb is a cyst over 5 cm should probably go. I'm sure there are exceptions. Mine started at 7cm and even at that size my doc wanted it out. It expanded to 10 cm by surgery time. I do hope you get some solid answers and relief soon. Take care.

well the dr i went to originally wants to take the wait and see approach, recheck U/S in 6-8 weeks, but at the same time he didnt tell me it was complex, he didnt tell me i had free pelvic fluid or that my ovary was way enlarged, so im going back  the 13th to see a different dr in the practice to see what she thinks.the u/s report suggested getting an MRI to look further into it so maybe the lady dr i see thursday will agree. if its still there and big id like to get it out.... im still in pain, bloating, nausea, pain during intercourse, and frequent urination, but the thought of losing my ovary kinda scares me. (the cyst is inside my ovary not in it, so im assuming they would have to take it out)....who knows?!

When I was bloating I thought I needed more fiber in my diet, that things just weren't going through very quickly. Then I tried lowering my sodium intake, thought it was fluid retention. Had no idea it was a cyst.

So you know you have a cyst but what's the next move? Will the doctor watch it and see if it gets smaller or are you headed for surgery? Having mine taken out was the best thing. I love to eat now but I'd better watch it. Fat is harder to get rid of. :-)

Do try to eat small bits throughout the day. You still need your nutrients to stay healthy.

ive go the bloating too, its horrible! over the last few months (before i knew what was wrong) i cut way back on pop and coffee and anything other than water thinking that was what was making me bloated!

ive tried doing the small meals thing, the only real meal i eat anymore is lunch (and thats only cause we get free catered lunch at the dr office i work at!! ha)

I had a large cyst on my left ovary too. What I noticed was a lot of bloating after meals and a general loss of interest in eating. I felt bad after eating so why bother? But I just ate very small amounts several times a day. That helped. At times even a half sandwich was too much. Liquid foods went down better - like soup.
