needs advice

ok so i am 30 weeks pregnant and have a cyst on my ovary. it grew about 3cm in a month that doesn't sound bad but apparently it is. I am told i need to have surgery but i am scared i don't know what to expect. i don't know if its going to affect my pregnancy. i am not sure if i am going to go into labor early. If anyone out there can help me out with some advice or has been through this please let me know. I am very worried about being so far along. My doctors told me i need to do this before i give birth...your comments are grately appreciated

Hi, welcome to the site.......I recently read a story about this on the Johns Hopkins ovca site for personal stories....The lady I read about wouldn't have known about her mass, had she not been pregnant, thus the baby saved her! Anyway, the lady had the surgery at 20wks....That is when the baby can recover from any trauma, the baby had dips in heart rate, but was carried to full term and is now 5yrs old and the mom is okay too!! You are at 30wks gestation....very close to having 0 risks if you're baby was to come early...
My baby was a 2pounder born at 26 weeks.....He is gonna' be 3yrs old in 3wks!!
I don't personally know about having something removed while pregnant, but like I said, I read about it and all seemed okay!
:-) Also, 3cm is 1 1/2 inches...so that is a reasonable size growth in a little amount of time...I'd get it out in case it gets bigger...You don't want it to cause you pain or get worse...
Good luck with you!

ok well as of right now its 7 cm and it started out being 4cm and grew 3 cm in like a month so i am gonna assume it gonna get bigger and they told me that they didn't want it to twist or whatever its called and that having the surgery is a good idea because they are afraid its going to get bigger which it has been. And yes they first detected it on Dec 27th and i go back on Feb 23 to see how big it got if any or if its smaller or what not but they strongly urged me to get it removed.. i guess i am scared i don't know what kind of procedure it is or whats going to happen if i am going to be ok and the baby i am pretty sure the baby will be ok. I don't know what kind of recovery it is and i would rather ask people who know what i am going through to help me out because doctors aren't always correct. I prefer feedback from others. After Thursday i will have more info
