Hiya i had a laparotomy 3 weeks ago and have noticed that a lot of my lower half of my stomach is numb not just around the scar but starting from belly button down on the right side. I was just wondering if this has happened to other people and if it will get any better it feels awfuly strange not to be able to feel it.
I had a hysterectomy and my right ovary removed back in 2001, and I can remember being numb in the area of the incision (bikini cut) It was above and below the incision site. My doctor said it was because of the nerves in the area were cut, and I should get the feeling back in time, which I did, it just takes time. I have heard that some get most feeling back, but not all. I would still tell your doctor about it when you see him/her again. :)
