i have been diagnosed with seeing another doctor, no one can help me , possible endo here with cysts
Hi,
I feel a bit embarrassed admiting this (and being 30)I have been having skin problems for the past 2 years. I have been getting pimples on my face, neck, back, chest and even arms. I went to a Dermatologist 2 years ago and she gave me some creams, it worked for awhile.I have put it down to being run down with Endo, and the other problems, and my hormones are all over the place. You ask about being constantly tired, Endo causes chronic fatigue. As hard as it is, its best to rest whenever possible. Its good that you are eating organic fruit and vege, its also recommended to try and eat organic meat, but its alot more expensive and hard to come by.
Take care
Kate
OMG-I know what you are going thru!! I have never ever had a pimple in my life until after I had children. It is an ongoing battle and I have tried every Rx, injection, every TV "miracle", and every over the counter pill, cream, gel...
Now I am faced with losing my right ovary and possibly a TAH/BSO and can only imagine what that will do to my skin. The drama never ends!
But, honestly, in all my trials there are two things that I have found to keep this under control. I don't know where you live and if these products are available, but...
The first is ProActive solution - it's on TV, it's on QVC, and they have their own website. They do work, but you must stick to the the regime. It's a little pricey, but not so bad.
The second is what I do now (I'm 41) and is the most basic and my favorite. I wash my face (and back) with just plain Dial soap, using a facecloth to gently exfoliate dirt, dead skin cells away - then I use a cream (can buy at drugstores) called Panoxyl. They also make a soap which is awesome. If you can't find it near you, try drugstore.com - they might have it.
It is very frustrating I know, but you will find what works for you!
I too suffer from this and I am 45!!! I don't get lots of pimples, just one great big huge honkin zit! You know the kind that hangs around for a few weeks. Really stinks on ice, I tell ya. ARRGGGGGG

ME TOO!!!!! I have been naming my zits after states they are so big. I get them on my back and my butt too. SEXY! Thought I was alone, have not found a remedy.
I have been breaking out too. The only things that have really worked for me has been Pro-Activ and something I saw in a book called "the beauty bible" by paula begoun. She has some great tips in there, as well as on her website. I have sensitive skin to begin with, so I can't use just anything. If you visit her site you will find this info, but she recommends using Cetaphil gentle cleanser (about 10.00 for a big bottle) and mixing a little baking soda in it to act as an exfoliater. She also recommends for oily skin, which most people suffering from acne have, a mask of Milk of Magnesia....it does the same thing as a clay mask but it is gentler on your skin. And, after that, she recommends an acne formula that contains benzoyl peroxide (sp?), and I've been using the Neutrogena brand. It works famously, however you have to watch b/c it will discolor your pillow case (if you sleep on your belly) and clothes if you do not wash it all the way off of your hands. Hope this helps you all.
I may be off base here, but I think severe acne can be a sign of PCOS. Has anyone been diagnosed with PCOS?
I completely understand! I am 27, and didn't have a zit until I graduated high school. I could understand through college, since hormones fluctuate during stress, but now I look like a 12yr old going through puberty! (thank goodness for makeup!)
Different pills can cause different acne, I am thinking. I had the large, painful ones (though only a few) while on the Yasmin, and now have lots of little ones all over while on the Seasonale.
Shoulders, back, face, breasts (those are annyoing!), etc. Another remedy is Calamine lotion. If you put it on overnight on those big painful ones, it takes out a good portion of the redness and swelling.
I am sure the hormones and stress are the biggest culprit of the outbreaks. I think one of the earlier posts mentioned Cetaphil. I was also told to use this. Actually my son also uses it (for eczema) and my daughter for a skin condition. The reason why we tend to break out is because our pores are clogged. Soaps and some face cleansers will clog pores. Cetaphil is a non-soap gentle cleanser, and it helps open your pores and allows them to breathe. It really helps a lot. The container says face cleanser, but my daughter and I use it on other parts of our body, as well. It is not a "cure all", but it definitely helps.
I am positive there is a type of BC that is known for controlling acne. Ask your doctor
I just purchased some neostrada plus some tea tree oil soap. I will let you know how that works :)
For what it's worth, my skin has never looked better than it does after my TAH/BSO and chemo. I do NOT recommend that for anyone that doesn't have to have it, obviously, but I consider it my little gift for having had to go through it. I guess my hormones were going crazy before all this, and now that all that "stuff" is gone, my skin has calmed down. I am the only female where I work, and as we all know, you could walk into a room full of men with a mohawk and a leopard print mu mu, and most of them wouldn't even notice you'd done anything different. But even the guys at work told me how good my skin looked. So either they are more observant than I give them credit for, or my skin must have really been a mess before all this!
Gail :)
exhaustion is a symptom of endo. I looked up endo on webmd.com since I was diagnosed with it.
