on my way back to the hospital

on my way back to the hospital

i just wanted you all to know,my moms on her way here to take me back to the hospital..my nurse was here night before last, and said i had another abdominal abcess (abscess)...she tried to contact my doc all day yesterday with no luck...i spoke to him this morning, and let him know when my packing is being changed, its completley green again...he said i need to go back to the hospital where hes at..he has a delivery, and then a surgery this afternoon,so he will be there when i get there...the doctor and nurse had talked about inserting a pic-line,and aybe taking me back into the or to drain this abcess (abscess)...if they have to do either,im hoping they opt just to do the pic line..i dont wanna go back in the er again...i just for the life of me can not understand why this keeps abcessing...im doing everything they are telling me to do..im on 2000 mg of oral antibiotics at home, not to mention the thousands of iv ones in the hospital all last week...were keeping it clean, and dry,and changing my packing exactly when were suppose to,...he uses surgical gloves, and has made sure everything he uses is sterile..so why does tis abcess (abscess) just keep coming back???arhhhhhhhh.....im tired of it...

I'm so sorry to hear that you have to go back, but you need to do whatever is necessary to get better! I know you don't want to be there, but everything is going to be OK. They need to get it cleaned out again, whatever it takes, to get you back on the right track. You are doing everything you can to help yourself heal, it's the doctor's turn now.
Here's a warm hug to send you on your way.....
Please let us know soon how you're doing!

You may not get this before you go back to the hospital but I had a thought.  I had a real problem with an infection after my hysterectomy years ago.  It was also discovered that I was Type to diabetic.  If you blood sugars are high then healing is more difficult.  After they realized I had a nasty infection ( I kept telling that I did not feel well at all) then antibiotics were started again-IV-and two types.  I was still quite a while before everything cleared up.  Good luck.  I know that this infection can be very nasty.

Sonie, my thoughts and prayers are with you.  For what it's worth, years ago when I had really ingrained infection in my bladder and kidneys, it took a LONG time on antibiotics to get it to stay away.  Oral didn't do the trick.  Flagyl, Levaquin, Amakacin, Keflex, Cipro and the like - really broad spectrum antibiotics.  They kill everything, including the fuzz that grows on your teeth during the night.  If you eat yogurt with live cultures it'll help with the yeast problem.

I'm so sorry you are going through this.  I know how frustrating it can be.  Be sure and keep your sense of humor up as best you can to fight the depression part.  I know when I'm at my worst, I'll go through my laundry list with my husband of what is hurting, what's swollen, etc., etc., etc., and he gets me with this every time - he'll say "yeah, but do your teeth itch?"  They never have - yet!!!  So I'll ask you Sonie, yeah, but do yoru teeth itch???  Take care and check in.  Love, hugs and God bless, Barb

Oh no, well I am sure that it will be taken care of.  Perhaps you should be checked for diabetes?  I am saying an extra prayer for you.  Luv ya, sis.
