ovarex(Oregovomab)

Hi dear all, Anybody try Ovarex (Oregovomad) before? it shows on web that still on trail now and will working on anti CA125?? dont know how to order or buy it?

Hello Furla...is that the Ovarex trial for a vaccination? A friend of mine went on it, but because her CA.125 was rising, she had to go off it, and start back on chemo. This is what she recently wrote...." My oncologist shared with me yesterday that after the drug company spent 550 million dollars, the results show that Ovarex doesn't work. It was an antibody and was part of the Ovca vaccination studies." I hope this has shed some light on your query Furla. Hugs...Helen...

My mom was on Ovarex - if I am right, it is a drug that is taken after Chemo to prevent the reoccurence of OC - it did not work for her as her OC returned mid treatment.  I thought that the Ovarex was a trial drug that was only available if you are approved and then delivered by your oncologist.

There is an ongoing clinical trial for the Abagovomab vaccine which is in a Phase II/III trial now.  Both I and my onc agree that this is something I will do as soon as I get the clear results of my PET/CT taken yesterday. .... it is still on Trial now.... well, mum is in China, and it is not avilable as I check.
Go and Visit the local dr, as they say: mum used too many tapes of chemo, it wont show a large percentage of benifit  in her case. but it seems no the other way without chemo now, she might have a try anyway. she have another two drug left to choose for the coming chemo: oral take Etoposide or
topotecan.  We will go have the CA125; CT scan next week ...

there is a month left for Chinese new year, hope she will feel better that time...
