I did not copy the whole article here, but this gives you some idea of what is going on. It looks like Massachusetts is really taking Ovarian Cancer seriously. I wish more states would do something like this.
"...Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women's Cancer Center is excited to be a part of this statewide campaign to alert women and those who love them to the subtle changes that could signal ovarian cancer," says Donna Walthall, director of marketing at Dana-Farber. "Only 15 percent of women are familiar with the symptoms and 82 percent have never talked to their doctors about it. We hope to encourage conversations between women and their physicians that could save lives."
The campaign will culminate with a real-time webcast from Massachusetts General Hospital on Sept. 24, featuring members of the coalition, survivors of ovarian cancer and their family members, and physicians discussing the disease's diagnosis, treatment, and heredity

This web address shows the teal lights on the Zakim bridge.
It's pretty impressive.

I hope that your mom has a great birthday!
Thanks for telling us about the lights on the bridge. I would love to see that. Do you know if they have it on a website anywhere and if not, maybe you could get a picture for us and put it in your profile. Now if we could get more big cities to do the same...
Chris
Good to know someone is getting the word out. Pretty quiet in the Tampa area :-( Good luck with your surgery and have a wonderful birthday celebration with Mom. My husband's Mom is 90 next May and we are starting to plan .. hopefully, my body will cooperate. Will keep you in my prayers. jUdy
I was really happy to read your message about the lights on the bridge. I wish you much luck with your surgery and a great birthday for your Mom. Ronni
Hope surgery goes well and a speedy recovery follows. I am glad there is ovca awareness somewhere, because there is very little here in Peoria. I will continue to try to raise awareness. Maybe next year we will light up some teal lights downtown. Marie
Hi Laney, long time/no see. Welcome back. Thank you for your update, too. I hope all goes well with your upcoming surgery.
When we were in Boston at the end of August there was an obituary for Patricia Franchi Flaherty who was founder of Ovations for the Cure there in Boston. Thank you for sharing the bridge info. I'm sure it's lovely and I hope it causes people to ask about it.
