ovarian cancer years after hysterectomy

Is it possible to get ovarian cancer after having a hysterectomy almost thirty years ago?  I have had some strange symptoms and am a little nervous.  Diahria, lower back pain, severe bloating , sudden nausea, etc.  I am 49 years old, I had endometriosis as a teen, resulting in cervical cancer and a hysterectomy at the age of 23.

Marie is correct....it is possible to be diagnosed with OvCa after having a hysterectomy, but it is very rare....it is often refered to as Primary Perotenial Cancer.

You know your body, if you feel that there is something wrong, then you should go to a doctor.

Good luck.

A hysterectomy means removal of the uterus.  The ovaries are often not removed.  Oopherectomy (sp?) means the ovaries were removed.  Find out if you still have them.  It is possible to get ovca following a hysterectomy.  Please see your doc for a workup.  I wish you the best.  Marie
