ovarian cysts and uterine fibroids and symptoms

I didn't have a test last May for Cancer but I did because my period was late and behold I tested positive on a urine and confirmed blood test was 50 IU which put me around 3 weeks pregnant. I started to bleed a few days later went to er and they did sono and saw nothing in uterus or tubes and my HCG levels dropped to 9 IU. Now what is surprising is I have blocked tubes so wondering if I was really pregnant especially now cause I have had ovarian cysts since last year and they have been followed for months with transvaginal ultrasound. It went from hemmoragic cyst my obgyn said to collapsing cyst and now last ultrasound showed polyp in uterus. They are suspicious of endometriosis too. My symptoms are what is bothersome, spotting between periods, pressure in abdomen and pelvis, short of breath, abdominal discomfort and feeling bloated, nausea and sometimes loss of appetite, hard time losing weight, feel full all over when I wake up and excessive gas. I have read symptoms of ovarian cancer and of course it seems I have pretty much all of them so now I flashback to that unexpected pregnancy result last year thinking was I really pregnant or God forbid it's ovarian cancer!! Help any advice is appreciated?

Thank you all well my tumor maker tests came out great. My doctor used the ROMA test which uses the CA-125 and HE4 blood markers, to determine the likelihood that a pelvic mass is malignant. My risk came out low. Praise God that is good news!!

Yes, it sounds like your doctor is doing the right thing - monitoring and not jumping into an unwarranted surgery. And hysterectomy and/or ovary removal is life-shattering for most women. And medical studies show that it typically causes more harm than good. The uterus, ovaries, and tubes work together and have LIFELONG functions with ovaries producing hormones into a woman's 80's for optimal health and well-being.

Sounds like the doctor is doing all the right tests. Rushing into a hysterctomy a removal of Ovaries changes your life for ever. My sexuality is all gone. I am married it is very tough on both of us. I had gone through Menopause but the sweats are way worse. I I had not been full of Cancer I would have not done the surgery.

Well so far had another transvaginal ultrasound and it shows the trend of my cysts changing and getting smaller. For example starting out at end of 202 was a complex cyst, to simple cyst, back to complex, or hemorraghic. My cysts are smaller which is why my doctored said 'collapsing cyst" she doesn't seem overly concerned. I had the ROMA blood test and awaiting results for that as a well as a repeat transvaginal ultrasound first week in August. I went to er with unexplained back pain and diarrhea after my menstural cycle ended. They did a ct scan of abdomen and pelvis and only noted small amount of fluid in cul de sac which is a normal physiologic finding. I feel bloated every morning so was surprised they saw nothing.

Sorry you are dealing with all this! If you do not have a genetic predisposition for ovarian cancer (OC), then it is unlikely to be OC. A woman at average risk has a LIFETIME chance of less than 2% (1.4% per U.S. government statistics). Polyps are almost always benign (over 99%). They can cause irregular bleeding though and pain but can be "snipped off" via polypectomy. And endometriosis can cause all the symptoms you are experiencing. The CA125 blood test is not accurate in diagnosing OC because minor things can cause an elevated result.

I was over-treated for an ovarian cyst. My gyn should have just removed the cyst and then sewed me back up when the frozen section biopsy (done while I was under anesthesia) came back benign. Instead, he proceeded to remove the rest of my sex organs (uterus, both ovaries, both tubes). I have been suffering the many medically documented effects ever since. I was 49 at the time of my surgery.

If they think it is bad they move fast. I was sent to the oncologist the next day and was in surgery in two more days.I know waiting is hard I have both Multiple Sclerosis and Stage 4 Ovarian Cancer and BRCA1 I have learned to wait. The not knowing is very hard. It took years to get both diagnoses. My Breast Doctor says it takes two years and several Specialist on average to be diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer. I kept saying I was losing weight and throwing up and having diaphragm spasms. They even took my gall bladder out. Finally I just went it the GP and said something is terribly wrong I do not know what but something is wrong. They did an ultrasound and I was full of Cancer. They could tell from the ultrasound how bad it was. I was in surgery in days. The only thing I would have done different is investigated the three local hospitals which treat Ovarian Cancer. And get a second opinion my first surgeon was real jerk.I would not have chosen my hospital if I had compared it with the other two Cancer Centers. At least ask to see the chemo room. I was shocked at how old and depressing it was with no privacy. I am now getting chemo in a beautiful building. I have a chemo suite now with privacy. I have had 17 chemos and when you spend up to five hours at a time getting chemo it should be comfortable and relaxing. The also like the hospital at the second place. I was hospitalized at both and the first was nasty. Again I would have gotten a second opinion.

What is the next step the doctors suggest? Most cysts are not cancer,  The only thing you can do is take it one step at time. If you are really worried you can ask for CA125 test.
